Love (and Drama) Is in the Air in Netflix’s ‘The Four Seasons’ [Teaser Trailer]

Couples’ trips are supposed to be about love, bonding, and relaxation—but what happens when one couple decides to drop a bombshell on the entire friend group? That’s the setup for The Four Seasons, Netflix’s upcoming comedy series from 30 Rock alums Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield, and Lang Fisher. And if the first teaser is any indication, these six friends are in for a year of awkward vacations and emotional meltdowns.

The series follows three couples—Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani)—who set out for what’s supposed to be a relaxing getaway. But instead of unplugging and unwinding, they’re hit with shocking news: one of them is calling it quits. Suddenly, the trip becomes a front-row seat to relationship chaos, and over the course of a year (and four seasonal vacations), tensions, secrets, and long-buried issues start bubbling to the surface.

A New Take on a Classic

If that title sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. The series is inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 film The Four Seasons, which followed a similar premise—except this time around, Netflix is shaking things up. While Alda’s film centered on three straight couples, the show introduces a more modern mix of relationships. And speaking of Alda, he’s making an appearance in the series, along with a stacked list of guest stars that includes Julia Lester, Ashlyn Maddox, and Toby Huss.

While the teaser doesn’t reveal which couple is heading for splitsville, it does offer a taste of the show’s humor. Colman Domingo’s character hilariously calls out his friends for their questionable vacation etiquette, including one particularly scandalous moment where he asks, “Who does that?” while giving some serious side-eye. Plus, the series keeps things musically on-brand, setting the teaser to Antonio Vivaldi’s Spring concerto—because nothing says relationship drama like a little classical music.

The Team Behind the Laughs

Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield, and Lang Fisher aren’t just writing The Four Seasons—they’re also serving as executive producers and co-showrunners. Fey’s longtime collaborator (and husband) Jeff Richmond joins as an EP, along with David Miner and Eric Gurian. Behind the camera, directors include Robert Pulcini & Shari Springer Berman, Oz Rodriguez, Jeff Richmond, Colman Domingo, and Lang Fisher.

When and Where to Watch

The Four Seasons is set to premiere on May 1 with eight 30-minute episodes, making it the perfect binge-watch for anyone who loves messy friend dynamics, sharp comedy, and a touch of heartfelt reflection. Will the group survive the year intact, or will love and loyalty melt away like last season’s snow? We’ll find out soon enough.

In the meantime, check out the teaser below and get ready for a year of vacations you wouldn’t want to be on—but definitely want to watch.
