Netflix has officially renewed “The Vince Staples Show” for a second season. Set in Long Beach, California, the series offers a fictional and humorous take on the life of rapper Vince Staples. The show’s unique premise revolves around Staples’ semi-fictionalized persona – he’s kind of famous, kind of rich, and kind of a criminal, but not quite any of those things. It follows his unpredictable daily adventures, where mishaps are almost guaranteed.
Executive producers for the series include Vince Staples himself, alongside notable names such as Kenya Barris (Khalabo Ink Society), Corey Smyth, Ian Edelman (Edelgang), Maurice Williams, and William Stefan Smith. Initially launched as a five-episode limited series in February, the comedy has earned a solid 94% rating from critics and a 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, prompting Netflix to extend its run.

Commenting on the renewal, Vince Staples expressed his excitement, saying, “The people have spoken and the most riveting, captivating, and polarizing show on Netflix is returning for season 2. Get ready for hijinks that only a mother can love. Thank you, Netflix!”
The series features recurring guest stars Vanessa Bell Calloway and Andrea Ellsworth, with notable appearances from Kareem Grimes, Naté Jones, Rick Ross, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock in the first season. The show reunites Barris with Edelman and Williams, who previously collaborated on Kid Cudi’s animated Netflix series, “Entergalactic.”
“The Vince Staples Show” first premiered in February of this year. The series captures the essence of Staples’ life, blending humor with the everyday absurdities he encounters.
