Following a sold-out premiere, the short film Transparent Moment is set to make its YouTube debut on Monday, February 10, 2025. Co-written by Parker Caston Jr., Kristen Lynem-Wilson, and Kelcey J. Henderson, the film explores love, friendship, and identity with a mix of humor and raw emotional honesty.
Originally conceived as a short film, Transparent Moment has evolved into something much larger. Due to overwhelming audience response, the creators decided to expand the project into a full series, allowing for a deeper exploration of its characters and themes. The decision reflects the resonance of the story, which tackles the complexities of relationships, loyalty, and masculinity while navigating the delicate balance between romantic and platonic connections.

“Since the premiere last September, so many people who weren’t able to make it—and people who discovered the film afterward—have been asking where to watch it. We felt now is the right time to get it out to the world, and we are so excited for everyone to see it,” said Henderson.
To build excitement ahead of the release, an engaging social media campaign kicked off across all major platforms. The campaign will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content, cast interviews, and sneak peeks leading up to the premiere. Viewers can subscribe to the official Transparent Moment YouTube channel and turn on notifications to ensure they don’t miss the debut.
The film features a cast led by Caston Jr., Brittany Lee Amaro, Faith Allen, Chace Henning, Da’Cole Suttice, and Thaddeus Newman. The story follows Josiah, a former ladies’ man turned devoted boyfriend, who is deeply in love with Violet, a romantic at heart who embraces love in all its forms. As their relationship deepens, Josiah struggles to maintain his longtime friendships while preparing for a future with Violet. Meanwhile, his best friends—Eli, the comedic wildcard, and Damian, the thoughtful realist—confront their own fears of commitment and change.
The narrative unfolds at a housewarming party where Violet seizes the opportunity to play matchmaker for her single college friends, Mariah and Blake. Over the course of the night, romantic sparks fly, friendships are tested, and everyone is forced to confront their desires, doubts, and defining transparent moments.
At its core, Transparent Moment is a witty, heartfelt exploration of love, friendship, and the challenge of balancing the past with an uncertain future. With its YouTube release, the film aims to reach a wider audience and spark conversations about the universal experiences it portrays.
The film is directed by Kristen Lynem-Wilson, with cinematography by Pascale R. Williams. Lynem-Wilson’s previous work includes acclaimed productions like Insecure and Rap Sh!t, while Caston Jr. has been mentored by industry veterans such as Sterling K. Brown. Henderson, with a background in journalism and film production, continues to craft compelling, character-driven narratives.
