‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Finally Has a Premiere Window…Early 2027

After more than three years away, Ahsoka is officially set to return.

Disney confirmed that Season 2 of the Star Wars series will premiere in early 2027, with star Rosario Dawson announcing the news Tuesday during Disney’s upfront presentation. Dawson also unveiled a behind-the-scenes reel offering a glimpse into the making of the new season.

“This season, the battles are bigger and the stakes are higher,” Dawson said while introducing the footage.

The update comes nearly four years after Ahsoka debuted in August 2023. The series quickly became a strong performer for Disney+, consistently appearing in Nielsen’s Top 10 original streaming charts during its weekly rollout.

A second season entered development in early 2024, but Lucasfilm has since scaled back its live-action Star Wars television slate. In the past 18 months, only Skeleton Crew and the second (and final) season of Andor have moved forward in the live-action space, while animation projects like Maul – Shadow Lord have kept the franchise active.

Season 2 will see the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, continuing his connection to Ahsoka’s journey through the Force. Meanwhile, Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann will step into the role of Baylan Skoll following the passing of Ray Stevenson in 2023, who portrayed the character in Season 1.

The first season ended on a major cliffhanger, with Ahsoka and Sabine stranded in another galaxy while Grand Admiral Thrawn advanced his plans to restore the Empire—setting the stage for an expanded conflict when the series returns.

With Ahsoka now locked for early 2027, fans will have to wait a little longer to see how the next chapter of the Star Wars saga unfolds—but Lucasfilm is promising a much larger scale when it does.
