Prime Video’s upcoming crime thriller series Scarpetta, based on Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling book series, is expanding its cast lineup with the addition of Anna Diop.

Scarpetta stars Nicole Kidman as Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a skilled Chief Medical Examiner who returns to Virginia to reclaim her former role. The series delves into Scarpetta’s complex world of professional challenges and strained personal connections, notably her relationship with her sister Dorothy, portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis. Both Kidman and Curtis will executive produce the series, which has already secured a two-season commitment from Prime Video.
Diop will take on the recurring role of Sierra “Tron” Patron, an FBI Cyber Investigator.
The series also stars Ariana DeBose will portray Lucy Farinelli-Watson, Dorothy’s daughter; Bobby Cannavale steps in as former detective Pete Marino; Simon Baker takes on the role of FBI profiler Benton Wesley; Rosy McEwen and Jake Cannavale portray younger versions of Kay Scarpetta and Pete Marino, respectively.

Additional recurring roles will feature Tiya Sircar (The Good Place) as policewoman Blaise Fruge, Graham Phillips (Riverdale) as actor Matt Petersen, and Georgia King (Vice Principals) as Maggie Cutbush.
The project brings together an impressive team behind the scenes as well. Liz Sarnoff (Barry, Lost) serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with David Gordon Green (Halloween, Stronger) directing the first two episodes. Kidman produces under her Blossom Films banner, while Curtis represents Comet Pictures. Cornwell, author of the original Scarpetta novels, also joins as an executive producer alongside Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, and Chris McCumber of Blumhouse Television. The series is produced in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios, Blossom Films, Comet Pictures, and Blumhouse Television.
With a cast and a dynamic team of producers and writers, Scarpetta aims to bring Patricia Cornwell’s iconic crime-solver to life for a fresh television audience.
