Apple TV+ has officially put its insomnia comedy ‘Still Up’ to bed.

Apple TV+ has officially canceled its insomnia-themed comedy series, “Still Up,” after just one season. The show, which premiered in September 2023, starred Antonia Thomas, best known for her role in “The Good Doctor,” and Craig Roberts of “Submarine” fame. Despite its promising premise and talented cast, the series has been quietly shelved.

Produced by Various Artists, the company behind “I May Destroy You,” and created by Natalie Walter and Steve Burge, “Still Up” explored the late-night conversations between Lisa, an aspiring illustrator with sleepless nights worrying about her daughter’s future, and Danny, a socially anxious but talented journalist. The duo shared everything but their romantic feelings for each other, making for a compelling yet short-lived narrative.

The ensemble cast included notable names such as Blake Harrison from “The Inbetweeners,” Lois Chimimba of “The One,” Luke Fetherston from “Flowers in the Attic,” Rich Fulcher of “The Mighty Boosh,” and Sam Spiro from “Sex Education.” Despite the star-studded lineup, Apple has decided not to continue the series.

Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts, however, will reunite for a new project, the comedy-horror feature “The Scurry.” Thomas, who played Dr. Claire Browne for four seasons on ABC’s “The Good Doctor,” recently returned to finish out the series. Her impressive resume includes roles in Channel 4’s drama “Suspect.” Apple TV+ has been selective with its international comedy offerings. To date, “Trying,” starring Rafe Spall, is the only comedy series to be renewed for multiple seasons, with its fourth season premiering recently.

Apple has declined to comment on the cancellation of “Still Up.”
