Black Mirror Season 7 Drops Trailer, Release Date, and an Epic Cast Lineup

Netflix is once again ready to warp reality and fry our brains with the return of Black Mirror. Season 7 of Charlie Brooker’s mind-bending anthology series is set to premiere on April 10, and if the newly dropped trailer is any indication, we’re in for another six episodes of reality-warping, existential dread—just the way we like it.

And it’s not just the eerie, tech-gone-wrong storytelling that’s got people talking. This season’s cast is stacked with both Black Mirror newcomers and some returning favorites. The Bear’s Will Poulter and Industry’s Asim Chaudhry are making their way back to the Black Mirror universe after their turns in 2018’s interactive special Bandersnatch. They’ll be joined by fresh faces Michele Austin (Hard Truths), Ben Bailey Smith (David Brent: Life on the Road), Josh Finan (Say Nothing), James Nelson-Joyce (The Outlaws), Jay Simpson (Pride & Prejudice, The Holiday), and Michael Workéyè (This Is Going to Hurt).

And that’s just the start. The trailer also teases appearances from heavy hitters like Peter Capaldi, Awkwafina, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd, and Issa Rae. Oh, and did we mention the return of USS Callister? Yes, one of Black Mirror’s most talked-about episodes is getting a sequel, bringing back Cristin Milioti and Jimmi Simpson—though, unfortunately, Jesse Plemons and Michaela Coel are sitting this one out.

For those who need a refresher, USS Callister (from Season 4) followed an insecure yet brilliant programmer who created a twisted, Star Trek-inspired simulation where he trapped digital clones of his coworkers. The episode explored themes of power, revenge, and virtual reality nightmares, and now, we’re getting a follow-up. What fresh horrors await? We can only imagine.

While Netflix is keeping details of the other episodes under lock and key, we know Brooker’s signature blend of psychological thriller, satire, and near-future dystopia will be in full force. The show’s knack for tapping into our deepest technological anxieties remains unmatched, and based on the trailer, it looks like Season 7 will continue to push those boundaries.

Brooker, along with executive producers Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones, is back at the helm. The season is produced under Brooker and Jones’ Broke & Bones banner, with Banijay Rights handling distribution.

With Black Mirror, one thing is always certain: expect the unexpected. So, mark your calendars for April 10, and maybe take a social media detox beforehand—you’ll need a clear head for what’s coming.
