The series offers a stark portrayal of the rise and fall of the Peoples Temple, led by the notorious Jim Jones, through firsthand testimonies and never-before-seen footage.
“Cult Massacre: One Day in Jonestown” meticulously reconstructs the final hours leading to the mass casualty, shedding light on the idealistic beginnings of the religious organization and its descent into chaos. Survivors and eyewitnesses, including former members of the Peoples Temple, former members of Congress, journalists, and military personnel, provide gripping accounts of the events that transpired.

Among those sharing their stories are Leslie Wagner Wilson, Yulanda Williams, and Stephan Jones, son of Jim Jones, offering unique insights into the inner workings of the Peoples Temple. Additionally, the series features Charles Krause, a former Washington Post foreign correspondent, and David Netterville, a former Special Ops Air Force Sgt. who was among the first responders to Jonestown.
