Universal Pictures and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions have announced the official title and release date for their upcoming psychological horror film set in the world of football. The film, previously known by its working title “GOAT,” is now titled “Him” and is set to hit theaters on September 19, 2025.

Directed by Justin Tipping, “Him” stars Marlon Wayans as a legendary quarterback who takes on the role of mentoring a young rising star played by Tyriq Withers. The story unfolds as the young athlete joins the aging quarterback at his secluded compound for training.

Joining the cast are Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, comedian Jim Jefferies, and hip hop artists Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack, both making their feature film debuts. The screenplay for “Him” comes from Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, known for their work on the sci-fi series “Limetown.”

This project marks another collaboration between Jordan Peele and Universal following the success of Peele’s previous horror films like “Get Out,” “Us,” “Candyman,” and “Nope.” Peele’s productions have consistently delved into social commentary and psychological depth, with “Him” promising to explore themes of fame, power, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

As fans eagerly anticipate the release of “Him” in September 2025, it’s clear that this collaboration between Peele, Universal, and a talented ensemble cast promises a gripping and chilling cinematic experience that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
