India Marie Cross (Wicked City), Mena Suvari (American Beauty), and Nick Stahl (Let the Right One In) are set to star alongside Caleb Landry Jones in Down the Arm of God, an indie drama co-written by Jones and Peter Brunner. The film, which is being introduced at EFM by Kinology, takes a raw and intimate look at homelessness, faith, and the harsh realities of small-town survival.
Inspired by real-life events, Down the Arm of God follows a young pastor navigating a brutal Texas winter as he tries to provide aid to the homeless, only to face resistance from his own congregation. As his mission unfolds, deep-seated prejudices and systemic failures come to light, forcing a confrontation between belief and reality.
Directed by Brunner, the film is built on years of collaboration with the homeless community, incorporating their firsthand experiences and perspectives into the storytelling—not just as subjects, but as integral voices shaping the narrative.
Luc Besson is producing under EuropaCorp, alongside Jones, Christian Sosa, Jon Wroblewski (Roosevelt Film Lab), and Paul Merryman.
Cross, best known for her breakout role in Wicked City, continues to make waves in the industry, taking on roles that challenge convention and bring fresh perspectives to the screen. She is repped by Formation Talent Agency and Zero Gravity Management.
Suvari, an Emmy nominee recently seen in Reagan and the sci-fi horror film Ick, is repped by Innovative Artists, Management Production Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Stahl, whose recent credits include Knights of the Zodiac and Let the Right One In, is repped by Greene Talent, Link Entertainment, and BMZ Law.
