Onyx Collective’s Searching for Soul Food Gets Premiere Date [TEASER]

Onyx Collective’s highly anticipated unscripted series “Searching for Soul Food” is set to premiere on June 2nd, exclusively on Hulu. The series follows celebrity chef Alisa Reynolds as she travels across the globe in search of soul food, exploring the stories, people, and traditions of each place she visits while bringing her own unique flavor to the table.

The series takes Reynolds on a culinary journey through Mississippi, Oklahoma, Appalachia, South Africa, Italy, Jamaica, Peru, and Los Angeles, discovering what soul food means in each of these places. Onyx Collective has released a 38-second teaser clip that showcases Reynolds’ travels across the globe, trying various versions of tacos, cornbread, collard greens, and pizza, celebrating the traditions that unite diverse cultures worldwide.

Reynolds is the founder and executive chef of My 2 Cents LA, a soul food eatery inspired by her parents’ Southern roots, and has cooked for a host of stars, including former U.S. President Barack Obama, Lena Waithe, and A$AP Rocky.

Directed by Rodney Lucas and executive produced by Melina Matsoukas, Jacob Cohen-Holmes, and Ali Brown, “Searching for Soul Food” is produced by Woodman Park Productions, De La Revolucion, and Ventureland, with Traci Curry serving as the showrunner.

Food lovers and travel enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting the release of “Searching for Soul Food” to explore the culinary world with Chef Reynolds and learn more about the diverse cultures that inspire her cooking.
