Simone Biles Rising part 2

Move over, Emily Cooper—there’s a new star taking Paris by storm. Olympic gymnastics icon Simone Biles is back on Netflix, and this time, she’s bringing a little French flair with her. In a clever nod to the hit show Emily in Paris, Biles announced the release date for part 2 of her docuseries, Simone Biles Rising. In the video Biles took a playful take on some of the show’s most iconic moments.

On Wednesday, August 21, Netflix unveiled a teaser video on social media where Biles, 27, channeled her inner Emily Cooper, quoting lines from the show in various Parisian settings. Against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, Biles sipped a drink and declared, “And ever since I moved to Paris, my life has been chaotic and dramatic and complicated,” mimicking Emily’s signature blend of charm and chaos. The montage continued with Biles trying on sunglasses in a chic boutique, asserting, “Without basic bitches like me, you wouldn’t be fashionable,” a sassy reference to Emily’s retort to a snooty fashion designer.

The video concluded with Biles indulging in a plate of crêpes, where she delivered another fan-favorite line: “I’m not somebody who can share a crêpe. I need the whole crêpe.” With a mischievous smile, she took a bite of a croissant and echoed Emily’s famous exclamation, “Oh, my God.”

Sharing the video on X, Biles asked, “Did I make Emily proud ???? Simone Biles Rising: Part Two, October 25 on @netflix!” Netflix followed up with their post on Instagram stating “watch your beret, emily” Both posts quickly went viral, with fans of both the gymnast and the series celebrating the fun crossover.

Simone Biles Rising: Part Two premieres on October 25 and will feature the final two episodes of the four-part series. Directed by Katie Walsh and produced by Religion of Sports in association with the Olympic Channel, the docuseries offers an intimate look at Biles’ journey as she prepared for and competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The first two episodes, which aired in July, chronicled her intense training and mental health struggles following her withdrawal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In the upcoming episodes, viewers will follow Biles as she secures her place on Team USA during the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Trials, leading up to her historic return to the Olympic stage in Paris. Biles captivated the world by winning three gold medals and one silver, solidifying her status as the most decorated gymnast in history.

Beyond her athletic achievements, the series delves into Biles’ personal life, including her marriage to NFL player Jonathan Owens and her reflections on starting a family. As Biles hinted at during an August 3 press conference, her future in gymnastics remains open, with fans eagerly speculating about whether she might return for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

For now, though, Biles seems content to enjoy her time in Paris—both on-screen and off. And if her playful homage to Emily in Paris is any indication, she’s living her best life, one croissant at a time.
