Sinqua Walls is heading to the DC Universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor has been cast in Man of Tomorrow, the Superman follow-up currently filming in Atlanta.
Last summer’s Superman marked a triumphant relaunch for the DC Universe under James Gunn’s creative direction. The film opened to $125 million domestically and became the first DC movie to cross $300 million at the domestic box office since The Batman in 2022. Now Gunn returns to write and direct the follow-up, which he has notably insisted is not a traditional sequel. In Man of Tomorrow, Superman is forced into an uneasy alliance with his arch-enemy Lex Luthor as the two face an even greater threat from the stars: the superintelligent alien android Brainiac.
As far as Walls’ role in the series, DC Studios declined to comment, and his character details are being kept firmly under wraps.
Returning Cast
Several faces from the first film are back. David Corenswet returns as Clark Kent/Superman, while Nicholas Hoult is back as the incarcerated Lex Luthor, described this time around as a more complex and human portrait of the villain. Rachel Brosnahan reprises her role as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo returns as Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio is back as Eve Teschmacher, Luthor’s former assistant and girlfriend. Frank Grillo returns as Rick Flag Sr., director of A.R.G.U.S., and María Gabriela de Faría is back as the Engineer, Luthor’s cyborg ally.
Fellow superheroes Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner also return.
New Additions
Joining the franchise for the first time are Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, the film’s central villain, and Aaron Pierre, fresh off his role in Lanterns, as Green Lantern John Stewart. Adria Arjona has also come aboard in a role reported to be Maxima, the warrior queen of the planet Almerac who believes Superman is her rightful mate. Matthew Lillard and Andre Royo round out the new additions, both in undisclosed roles. Walls joins that group as the latest cast member whose character details remain a closely guarded secret.
