In a piece of exciting news for fans of the hit FX on Hulu series ‘The Bear,’ it seems that there’s more to look forward to than previously anticipated. Multiple sources confirm to Deadline that the acclaimed comedy, which snagged an Emmy for its portrayal of restaurant life in Chicago, has not only been renewed for a third season but has also secured a fourth season. What’s more, both seasons are set to be filmed back-to-back.
“The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, an award-winning chef who inherits his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop in Chicago after the suicide of his older brother. Returning to his hometown, Carmen faces the challenges of managing the rundown kitchen, dealing with unresolved debts, and handling an unruly staff while confronting his own pain and family trauma. The supporting cast includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson.

The series, created by Christopher Storer, premiered on Hulu on June 23, 2022, and quickly became a massive hit for FX. Season 1 took home 10 trophies at the Emmy Awards, including Best Comedy Series and outstanding performances by Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ayo Edebiri. Season 2 continued the success, securing top honors at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.
While FX has yet to officially announce the Season 4 renewal, sources close to the production have confirmed the news. Speculation about the show’s future has been rife, with some wondering if Season 4 will mark the series’ conclusion, similar to Atlanta’s ending after shooting its third and fourth seasons consecutively.
However, insiders suggest that Season 5 of The Bear is still a possibility. Filming back-to-back is aimed at accommodating the busy schedules of the show’s talented cast, including Emmy winners Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, who are reportedly fielding numerous feature film opportunities.
Whatever the reason, we’re glad we won’t have to wait long for the third and fourth season.
