The second season of Paramount+’s “Frasier” revival adds more star power with the inclusion of Yvette Nicole Brown. Brown is set to guest star as Monica, the sister of Olivia, a character portrayed by Toks Olagundoye, Variety reports.
Fans of the show will finally meet Monica, who has been a frequent topic of conversation by her sister Olivia. Described as “part haughty professor, part Nancy Drew,” Monica is Olivia’s brilliant, biting, and delightfully deadpan older sister. She embodies everything Olivia has and aspires to, and she never misses an opportunity to remind her.
“We are thrilled to be graced with the comedic gifts of Yvette Nicole Brown. Her work is effervescent, deftly balancing humor and heart. She is just a delight,” said executive producers and co-showrunners Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli in a joint statement.

Brown isn’t the only new addition to the reboot. Peri Gilpin returns as Frasier’s former radio producer Roz, and Amy Sedaris will appear as Dr. “Doc” Stathos, a quirky municipal therapist who is a big fan of Frasier Crane. Additionally, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter Greer will play Roz’s daughter Alice, now in her late twenties and bringing some of her mother’s free-spirited nature to the role.
Kelsey Grammer, who continues to bring the iconic character of Frasier Crane to life, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. “‘Frasier’ is a love story, and I am very happy we will be allowed to continue it. I’m delighted that our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ are on board for another season, and I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have in store!”
Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of Programming at Paramount+, praised the show’s success in reintroducing “Frasier” to new audiences while delighting long-time fans. “Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television,” Grossman said. “The new series has reminded fans of Kelsey’s truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane, and we’re thrilled to see what the creative team and cast bring to Season 2.”
The “Frasier” revival, written by Harris and Cristalli, is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions. Harris and Cristalli also serve as executive producers alongside Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon.
